WILLIAMSON COUNTY ESD NO. 3 ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 9.29 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $5.77.
WCESD #3 Local Government Debt Transparency
In 2015, the 84th Legislature passed HB 1378 (codified under Texas Local Government Code § 140.008) in order to increase local government debt transparency across the state. Beginning January 2016, political subdivisions, including counties, cities, school districts, junior college districts, special districts (i.e. Emergency Services Districts), and other subdivisions of state government must annually compile certain debt obligation data from the preceding fiscal year. This information must be reported to the Comptroller of Public Accounts for posting on the Comptroller’s Internet website.
