About Citizens Fire Academy

Hutto Fire Rescue’s Citizens Fire Academy is a 10 week academy that meets only on Tuesdays from 6pm to 9pm.

This class will give you a better understanding of what your firefighters do on a daily basis to mitigate emergency situations. It will give you the opportunity to experience what it is like to wear a firefighter’s protective clothing, pull fire hose off the truck and flow water, search for victims in a limited visibility environment, and obtain an American Heart Association CPR certification. Some of the classes will involve moderate physical activity, such as lifting up to 30 pounds and managing a fire hose that is flowing water.

Classes will be on Tuesday nights from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The class will be limited to the first 10 qualified applicants with a minimum age of 18. Classes fill up quickly so hurry and apply!
